On the course – Range finders – GPS (Global positioning system) and distance to pin

It is difficult to use a range finder on par fours and fives, so players often rely on the GPS position, distance book or distance markers on the course to calculate the distance to the pin.

The banner below the stroke number, will change from Red, Orange to green to indicate the current GPS accuracy in the distance to the pin measurement. When the banner is green, it is deemed to be accurate, though it may vary up to five metres or yards. If the banner is Red or Orange, the distance indicator is not accurate and should not be relied on.

The GPS Accuracy will change between green and orange before you record any information.

If the GPS position has not accurately loaded, tap the Back button in the top left corner.

Re-tap At My Ball and tap on Select club.

The At My Ball button on the Stroke number screen, or the At My Ball button on the Club select screen, is used to update the Tee and your ball location on the Fairway and Green as you progress through the round.

On the course, tap At My Ball to ascertain the distance to the Pin, remembering that the flag has been set to the centre of the Green.

If you have a range-finder, use it to obtain an accurate distance.

Use the plus (+) or minus (-) buttons to change in five-unit intervals on the fairway and one-unit intervals on the green.

Once you are confident with the reported number, tap Lock.

Locking the data will prevent these distances changing once you reach the green and record the day’s correct pin placement. If any unlocked data exists for the hole, those unlocked distances will be adjusted to reflect the correct distance to the pin position.
