Recording some of the details before and some after you hit the ball

If you do not know the club, you are going to use:

Tap on At My Ball.

The GPS distance will vary from your range finder readings, because the pin has been set up in the centre of the green. Manually enter the distance obtained from your range finder and tap on Lock.

If the range finder distance is greater or lesser than the number that appears on your, ‘distance to pin’ screen, tap on the plus (+) or minus (-) buttons on either side of the distance to increase or decrease by five Metres/Yards and tap on Lock.

Tap on Select club. Look at the distance to the pin appearing on the top line of the ‘club select’ page.

Review all clubs available for that distance and weather conditions, determine where the distance fits in with each club’s capacity, and tap once to make your selection.

You can view the distance and the club’s capacity more clearly at the bottom of the screen. If it is the club you want to use, tap it again.

Put your phone away, focus on the game, and hit the ball.

After you complete your stroke, determine whether your stroke is From the rough, From fairway bunker or From greenside bunker and turn on the appropriate settings.

If none have been turned on, watchMynumbers will assume that the ball has been hit from the fairway. Record your stroke result by tapping on either Excellent, Just ok, Left, Right, Short, Long, Thin or Fat.

If the stroke was an error, and the error will mean an additional recovery stroke, turn on the critical error button. Press Save. If you do not hit save, the stroke will not be recorded.

On par fives, your second stroke location may be a long way from the green and you may not be able to see the flag, even with a range finder. In this situation, tap on At My Ball.

You can ascertain how far the flag is with your range finder and compare it with your GPS findings on the watchMynumbers app. Again, if the range finder distance is greater or lesser than what is appears in ‘distance to pin,’ tap on the plus (+) or minus (-) buttons on either side of the distance to increase or decrease by five Metres/Yards and press Lock.

If you cannot see the flag with your range finder, do not tap Lock, as the correct pin location and distance to the flag from your current position will be updated once you tap on At The Pin when you reach the green.

Follow the same procedure to record the result of the stroke, making sure to Save.

If you find yourself in any bunkers, repeat the above instructions to record the stroke.

We strongly suggest you record the second or additional stroke attempts out of Greenside bunkers as penalties and enter the additional strokes after the round is completed, as it will hold up play.

Repeat the above for each stroke until your ball is on the green.
