What are passive and dangerous pin placements

There are four distance Approach Zones in columns (< meaning less than) <20, <40, <80 & <140 meters or yards and an additional area outside the main approach areas can be modified and retained in your personally created Report Thresholds in Player Profile.

In addition, there are three Approach Threshold matrices each with their own unique colour success pallet.

• Passive Pin Placement Approach
• Dangerous Pin Placement – Attacked (1+) or
• Dangerous Pin Placement Approach – Not Attached (1)

Passive Pin Placement refers to positions on the green, that have few or no hazard around the pin. When your approach stroke is poor, (failing to deliver the ball close to the pin) it is considered to be an error and light purple and light red colours of its matrix are used. Good approach strokes are rewarded with light blue, light green and cyan.

Dangerous Pin Placement Approach – Not Attached (1). If you choose to not too aggressively attack the pin,  this matrix displays more light blue, light green and cyan colours, as players are not penalised for intentionally avoiding the pin. However, very poor approach strokes that arrive too far from the pin are displayed in light purple and light red whilst good approach strokes are rewarded with light blue, light green, and cyan.

Dangerous Pin Placement – Attacked (1+). If you choose to aggressively attack the pin, particularly when it’s in a precarious position such as close to the edge or near bunkers, the arrival points from certain approach distances will be depicted in light purple and light red colours of its matrix. This penalises intentional attacks that fail to arrive close to the pin. Conversely, good approach strokes are rewarded with light blue, light green, and cyan.
